Privacy policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Witifier is a Chrome extension and a Windows app that, while you’re in a call (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams…) or watching a YouTube video, suggests things to say.
What data it handles
- Captions. The extension reads the captions Google Meet or YouTube show on screen (only if you turn them on) and the YouTube video title. Optionally, the Windows app reads the text of Windows Live Captions, if you turn on “Listen to the whole PC”.
- Nothing else. It doesn’t read your email, passwords, browsing history or any other page. The extension only runs on meet.google.com and www.youtube.com.
Where it goes
- The extension sends those captions only to your own computer: to the Witifier app running on it (
http://localhost:8340). The extension sends nothing to any external server.
- The app uses Claude Code, installed and signed in by you with your own Claude account, to generate ideas. To do that, the caption text is sent to Anthropic, just like when you use Claude yourself. That processing is governed by Anthropic’s terms and privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
- Transcripts, ideas and notes are saved on your computer, in
Documents\Witifier. Delete them whenever you like.
What we don’t do
- We have no servers and collect no data: the developer of Witifier receives nothing.
- We don’t sell or share data with anyone.
- No analytics, ads or tracking cookies — not in the app, the extension or this website.
Keep in mind
If you use Witifier in a call with other people, their words pass through the tool. Let them know when appropriate, just as you would if you were taking notes or recording.

A dónde van
http://localhost:8340).
